Export licensing requirement

On 16 October 2021, the government of Turkey issued a communique (2021/9) introducing a licensing requirement on the export of chickpeas (garbanzos), sulphuric acid-oleum, and anhydrous ammonia. Subject products are classified under the tariff subheadings 0713.20, 2807.00, and 2814.10.

The decision is taken through an amendment of the Communiqué (No. 2006/7) on goods that are subject to export licensing requirements. According to the communique, those who want to export the products listed in the Communique are required to apply for an export license from the Ministry of Trade. The export licensing procedure is not an automatic procedure and granting an export license is at the discretion of the Ministry of Trade.
