Import tariff

On 29 September 2021, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a ruling relating to the tariff classification of refrigerator gaskets. With the ruling, CBP reclassified refrigerator gaskets as refrigerator parts under HTSUS 8418.99.80 rather than as composite goods containing flexible magnets under HTSUS 8505.19.20. With the new classification, the import tariff of the subject product has decreased from 4.9 percent duty to duty-free.

This ruling will become effective on or after November 28, 2021.
