On 25 June 2012, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Gdansk Airport signed an agreement worth EUR 66 million (approx. USD 83 million) for the project Gdansk Airport from Poland. The total cost of the project is estimated at EUR 13247 million.

The objective of the project is defined as following: Total airport capacity after project completion will be 7 million passengers p.a. and the new taxiway will increase runway capacity from 15 to 40 aircraft movements per hour..
