On 02 July 2012, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Tauron Polska Energia SA signed an agreement worth EUR 225 million (approx. USD 276 million) for the project Tauron Electricity Distribution from Poland. The total cost of the project is estimated at EUR 450 million.

According to the project description issued by the EIB, The Project involves a multi annual investment programme for the modernisation and extension of electricity networks of the Promoters distribution company, Tauron Distribution S.A., located in Southern Poland..

The objective of the project is defined as following: The project will enable the promoter to cater for demand growth, reduce losses, further improve safety, and improve the reliability and quality of electricity supply..
