Anti-dumping

On November 14, 2013, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of acrylic sheets from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United States of America (Circular No. 71, 14.11.2013).
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 3920.5100. The complaint was lodged by Unigel Plásticos S.A. on July 31, 2013. The investigation started on the day of the publication of the circular in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil, i.e. on November 18, 2013.

On November 14, 2014, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to extend for up to six months, from November 17, 2014, the investigation period to determine the existence of dumping in exports of acrylic sheets from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the United States of America (Circular No. 69, 14.11.2014). Circular SECEX No. 69 was published in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil on November 17, 2014.

On March 24, 2015, the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to terminate the investigation without imposing any duty (Circular No. 18, 24.03.2015). Reason for termination is the insufficient evidence of the existence of injury caused by dumped imports. Circular No. 18 was published in the Federal Official Gazette of Brazil on March 25, 2015.
