On 22 August 2011, Brazil auctioned a concession to build the airport “Săo Gonçales do Amarante” in Natal and provided an investment loan on favorable terms to the winning conglomerate. The loan includes local sourcing requirements for the capital goods involved in the project.

State loan

The concession went to the Infra-America consortium consisting of Brazilian Engerix and Argentinian airport operator Corporacion America, each holding a 50% stake. They will have three years to build the airport and received a 25 year license to manage it. Besides this, in the case of the Natal airport, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) provided a subsidized credit of 329.3 million Real (US$ 200 million) which covers 75% of the investments.
