Government of New Zealand, Official government Gazette, Notice No. 2020-go3112, issued on 15 July 2020: https://gazette.govt.nz/notice/id/2020-go3112
On November 17, 2009, the New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development decided, after having conducted a sunset review, to continue the anti-dumping duty on imports of canned peaches (halves, slices and pieces) from Greece.
The amount of the duty is defined by the New Zealand Customs Instructions 'Canned Peaches from Greece' E/009/CS004/001 dated November 2009. This duty entered into force on November 18, 2009.
The product subject to the duty is classified under the following HS code: 2008.7009.
This duty follows a sunset review initiated on 14 December 2008 and requested on 6 November 2008 by Heinz Wattie's Limited.
The original anti-dumping duty entered into force on March 9, 1998. It had then been reassessed on December 15, 2003.
On November 14, 2014, the New Zealand authorities decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of canned peaches originating in Greece. This follows a request lodged on September 19, 2014 by Heinz Watttie's Limited. The existing anti-dumping duty remains in force during the review.
On 23 July 2015, the New Zealand authorities decided, after having conducted a sunset review, to continue the anti-dumping duty on imports of canned peaches (halves, slices and pieces) from Greece. This measure is applied as a reference price duty of a non-injurious FOB amount being capped by a normal value amount of EUR1.68 per kg (USD 1.90 per/kg). The duty entered into force on 16 July 2015.
On 15 July 2020, the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment initiated a sunset review on imports of canned peaches from Greece. This follows the application lodged by the domestic industry. The duty will remain in force for the duration of the review.
