Import tariff

On 27 December 2013, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariffs on eleven items from the IT and telecommunication sector to 2%. The products have been labeled as ex-tarifários, i.e., products with a tariff exception to the Mercosur Common External Tariff (TEC).
 
The following items have been affected by the measure:

  • Digital equipment for TV networks (Ex 001 of NCM 8517.62.32)
  • Digital equipment for TV networks (Ex 015 of NCM 8517.62.49)
  • Digital equipment for TV networks (Ex 019 of NCM 8517.62.59)
  • Broadcast monitors (Ex 008 of NCM 8528.51.20)
  • Controllers and other electronic equipment for trains (Ex 007 to Ex 013 of NCM 8530.10.10)

 
The measure will be in force until 31 December 2014.
