Import tariff

On December 5, 2013, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina has adopted General Resolution 3554/2013 changing the reference prices applicable to the importation of shawls, scarves and handkerchiefs originating in certain Asian countries. The new reference price has been set at USD 0.65 per unit (free on board). Previously, the import criterion value was set at a FOB value of USD 5 per kilogramme.

The new import criterion values affect the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

These reference prices entered into force on December 6, 2013.

Import Criterion Values
In accordance with the Argentinean legislation, once a reference price is established, when a good subject to such prices is imported at a lower cost, the importer shall guarantee the difference between the reference price and the value declared at customs. The products subject to this measure are classified under item 6117.10.00 (knitted clothes) of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System.
