On 13 January 2012, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariffs on 6 IT and telecommunication goods from 16% to 2%. The products have been labeled as ex-tarifários, i.e., products with a tariff exception to the Mercosur Common External Tariff. The measure was in force until 31 December 2012.
