On 28 May 2013, Indonesia introduced (according to Regulation No. 24 2013)temporaryimport restrictions on soy beans (HS code 1201.90.00.00). During the harvest period, soy bean imports can only be conducted by Public Company BULOG, cooperatives and/or private parties participating in the Soybean Price Stabilization Program. The Minister of Agriculture defines the duration of the harvest period, that is, the period during which the import restriction is in force. Evidence of proof of local purchases of soy beans is one of the requirements for attaining a licence to import.
On 20 September 2013, Indonesia introduced a new regulation (No.51/M - DAG/PER/9/2013) that suspends regulation 24/2013.
