Import ban

On 30 August 2013, Indonesia introduced a new regulation (86/2013) affecting the allowed periods to import horticultural products. In particular, 80 per cent of total horticultural products must be imported during specific periods, which are approved twice annually. Chilies as well as fresh shallots are not subject to the allocation scheme and can be imported at any time.
