On 10 July 2013, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Aeroports De Lyon signed an agreement worth EUR 105 million (approx. USD 137 million) for the project Aeroport De Lyon Developpement from France. The total cost of the project is estimated at EUR 245 million.

According to the project description issued by the EIB, The project consists of the development of Lyon Airport by providing additional passenger terminal capacity, new taxiways, additional aircraft parking stands and a number of other related infrastructure elements, all of which will enable the airport to cater for future growth in traffic and improve safety and service levels..

The objective of the project is defined as following: Le projet sintegre dans le plan strategique de laeroport qui prevoit une capacite daccueil de 18 millions de passagers en 2030. La realisation de ce projet, premiere phase de ce plan, portera la capacite de laeroport a 13 millions de passagers en 2016..
