On July 18, 2013, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade issued Decree no. 699/M-DAG/KEP/7/2013, in which the import quota for live bovine cattle are abolished. Import of live cattle is now allowed until December 31, 2013, subject to ministerial approval with a view to maintaining a reference price of 75,000-76,000 rupiah (US$ 7.46-7.55) per kg for domestic beef.
