On November 8, 2013, Reuters reported that Serbia plans to abolish incentives for new foreign investment from 2014. In addition, the inward foreign investment promotion agency (SIEPA) will close and its duties will be taken over by a department of the Ministry of Economy. This was announced by Minister of Economy Saa Radulovic while discussing the 2014 budget of the Republic of Serbia, and implicitly confirmed by the Ministry of Economy in a press release dated November 13. The 2014 budget maintains subsidies and incentives for existing investments, but no fresh incentives for new investments will be offered.
