Labour market access

The State Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament (according to Rossiyskaya Gaseta, an official newspaper of the Russian Government, Issue 6233 of 14 November 2013), is currently discussing a draft law, which stipulates that the visa free-sojourn of foreigners cannot surpass 90 days every 6 months.
Current legislation stipulates that a foreigner entering Russia under thevisa-free regime is requested to leave the country after 90 days but can immediately return back to Russia.

"According to the Federal Migration Service, this right has been exercised by every tenth foreigner, thereby repeatedly prolonging her/his legal residence in the territory of the Russian Federation without a permit," - says the deputy Mr Mikhail Starshinov who is the author of the bill.
