Labour market access

On October 24, 2013, the Cayman Islands' Legislative Assembly passed the Immigration Reform Bill, which entered in to force four days later. It provides for a term limit for foreign workers of nine years (under the old law, foreign workers had to leave the Caymans or seek a permanent residence permit after seven years). In addition, those workers holding a Term Limit Exemption Permit that ended on October 28. 2013, are now entitled to continue working until December 9, 2013, provided he or she has his or her passport 'regularised'.
