Labour market access

On October 28, 2013, the Omani Ministry of Manpower decided not to allow small construction and cleaning companies to hire foreign workers for the next six months, in a bid to curb illegal foreign labour. Certain companies (those listed as 'first class', consultancy firms and those involved in government projects) are excluded from the measure.

The measure entered into force on 1 November 2013 for a period of 6 months.
