ANNOUNCEMENT 25 Jun 2009

In June 2009, the government of Turkey extended the definitive duty for a new period. In June 2014, a sunset review was initiated on imports from Germany and the United States whilst the duty was terminated on imports from Italy and Romania. In July 2015, the definitive duty was extended for a new period. In June 2020, a sunset review was again initiated.

Anti-dumping

On June 25, 2009, the Turkish authorities decided upon the continuation of the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of polyvinyl chloride suspension grade (PVC-S) originating in Germany and the United States as well as Italy and Romania see related intervention (Notification No. 2009/18). This follows the conclusion of a sunset review initiated on 1 February 2008. The products subject to duties are classified under the following HS code: 3904.1000. The amount of the duty imposed on imports originating in Germany is USD 45 per metric ton, at the exception of the company Ineos Vinyls Deutschland GmbH whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 25 per metric ton. The amount of the duty imposed on imports originating in Italy is USD 45 per metric ton, at the exception of the company Ineos Vinyls Italia S.p.A whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 25 per metric ton. The amount of the duty imposed on imports originating in Romania is USD 45 per metric ton, at the exception of the company S.C. Oltchim S.A. whose exports are subject to a duty of USD 25 per metric ton.
 
The original anti-dumping measure was decided on February 6, 2003.
 
On June 17, 2014, the Turkish authorities initiated another sunset review of the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of polyvinyl chloride suspension grade (PVC-S) from Germany and the United States of America (Notification 2014/18). No review was initiated concerning imports originating in Italy and Romania. The duty imposed by Notification No. 2008/7 on imports of PVC suspension grade originating in Italy and Romania expired on June 25, 2014.

On 10 July 2015, the Turkish authorities extended the definitive duty imposed on imports of the subject good from Germany and the United States. The rate of duty on imports from Germany is 16.44%. The rate of duty on imports from the United States is 18.81%.

On 24 June 2020, the Turkish authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of uncoloured float glass from Germany and the United States. This follows the application lodged by Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.Ş.
