On 13 November 2012, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariffs on 228 types of capital goods. The resolution no. 82/12 which came into power on 14 December 2012 creates 228 new ex-tarifários, i.e., products with a tariff exception to the Mercosur Common External Tariff. Those capital goods are subject to a reduced tariff of 2 per cent. The same measure also revokes the three ex-tarifáriosNCM 8454.90.90, NCM 8422.30.21, NCM 8479.89.99 from Camex resolutions no. 36/11, 68/12, and 74/12, respectively. The resolution no. 82/12 stays in power until 30 June 2014.
