On 25 June 2012, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariff on palm oil seeds (NCM 1513.29.10) with a tariff-rate quota. The tariff has been reduced from 10% to 2%, is limited to a quota of 223.365 tons and valid for a period of 180 days. The tariff-rate quota, which is based on Camex resolution no. 41/12, came into power on the 27 June 2012.
On 18 October 2012, the resolution no. 41/12 has been revoked by resolution no. 73/12.
