Import tariff quota

On 30 July 2013, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariff on six products to 2%. The tariffs are limited to various quotas and time periods.
Until 31 July 2014:

  • whey powder (NCM 0404.10.00), tariff fell from 28% to 2% for a quota of 2'000 tons
  • welded steel tubes (NCM 7306.30.00), tariff fell from 14% to 2% for a quota of 5'000 tons
  • welded steel tubes (NCM 7306.30.00), tariff fell from 14% to 2% for a quota of 8'000 tons
  • aluminum sheets thicker than 0.2m (NCM 7606.12.90), tariff fell from 20% to 2% for a quota of 563 tons
  • aluminum sheets not thicker than 0.2m (NCM 7607.11.90), tariff fell from 20% to 2% for a quota of 563 tons

Until 17 January 2014:

  • partially oriented polyester yarn (POY) (NCM 5402.46.00), tariff fell from 18% to 2% for a quota of 40'400

The Camex resolution no. 60/13 stays in power from 31 July 2013 until 31 July 2014.
