Import tariff

On 24 June 2013, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex) decided to reduce the ad valorem tax rate for eleven information technology products of foreign production. The tariff rate has been reduced from 16%, to 2%. The import tax incentive ('ex-tarif√°rio') is supposed to boost investment as well as technological innovation and to create jobs.
 
The measure stays in effect from 24 June 2013 until 31 December 2014.
