ANNOUNCEMENT 13 Mar 2012

On 13 March 2012, the President of the Republic, Hugo Chavez Frias, adopted Decree No. 8.847 eliminating all tariffs, duties and value added tax (VAT) for several countries. This measure entered into force on the same day for a period of five years.

This measure effectively reduces tariffs on trade with the 5 countries specified above, other foreign suppliers of medical goods are relatively disadvantaged.
