On 18 September 2013, the European Commission approved a financial grant to support Czech steel-producing company ArcelorMittal Ostrava in their investment into a de-dusting facility for sinter handling and cooling in one of their sinter plants.

On 18 September 2013, the European Commission approved a CZK 494 (USD 29.53) million financial grant scheme from Czech Republic. The aid will support steel-producing company ArcelorMittal Ostrava in their investment into into one of their sinter plants in Czech Republic. The scheme is in force from 18.06.2013.
Under the scheme, ArcelorMittal Ostrava will receive the financial grant to support their investment into a de-dusting facility for sinter handling and cooling in one of their sinter plants in Czech Republic.
In this context, the European Commission noted that "[t]he distortion of competition is expected to be limited"
As such, the Commission has decided not to raise objections to the aid on the grounds that it "considers that the notified aid to ArcelorMittal for installation of fabric filters equipment to increase the level of environmental protection is compatible with Article 107(3)(c) TFEU."
The state aid is notified under the following objective: Environmental protection.
A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the financial support granted here is discriminatory.
