On May 21, 2010, the Turkish Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade (UFT) instructed the Exporters Associaion that exporters of copper scrap need to fulfil three preconditions before being allowed to export the product. The conditions are:

  2. A written confirmation received from at least three domestic producers, showing that the copper scrap would not be used for their production, must be submitted
  3. A contract must be provided that shows the export connection, i.e. a document that binds the prospective exporter to an importer abroad.
