On 1 May 2013, the Finance Ministry adjusted the import duties on textile products. Due to the lack of an official statement, the affected tariff lines have been identified through a comparison of official tariff information submitted to the WTO by Israel for the years 2013 with that of 2012.

Import tariff

The import of processed clothing was previously duty free. Domestic producers complained about being discriminated against by this scheme and the finance ministry reacted in May 2013 by introducing an uniform 6 per cent duty on all textiles.
