Import tariff

On 26 November 2010, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 598 temporarily increasing the import tariff on red onions from Peru by USD 0.07 per kg. This special import tariff only applies to red onion imports exceeding 35,473,000 kg. This measure entered into force on 4 January 2011 for the period of three years.
