On 3 February 2010, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 551 modifying the import tariff on software porducts corresponding to tariff lines 4907.00.90 and 8523.40.29. Firstly, the import tariff was reduced from 20 to 0 per cent on software products under tariff line 4907, which are not for gaming and entertainment purposes. The import tariff remained at 20 per cent for gaming and entertainment software under 4907. Secondly, the import tariff was reduced from 5 to 0 per cent on software products under tariff line 8523, which are not for gaming and entertainment purposes. The import tariff increased from 5 to 25 per cent for gaming and entertainment software under tariff line 8523.
This measure was abrogated on 6 October 2010 by Resolution No. 586.
