On 14 August 2009, Ecuador's Trade and Investment Board (Consejo de Comercio Exterior e Inversiones COMEXI) adopted Resolution No. 502 suspending preferential import tariff rates applicable to the import of products from Colombia corresponding to 666 tariff lines. This suspension of preferential import tariffs otherwise applicable to countries of the Andean Community amounts to a de facto increase of import tariffs. This measure entered into force on 22 August 2009. It was abrogated by Resolution No. 548 on 11 February 2010.
