Labour market access

On 20 June 2013, the Government of Alberta announced changes to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). The program allows the State of Alberta to nominate candidates to Citizenship and Immigration Canada for permanent residence.

Starting immediately, eligible candidates can nominate themselves for permanent residence. In order to qualify for the program, foreigners must reside in Alberta and have been working full time for at least two years before application in one of the 100 in-demand occupations.
