Financial assistance in foreign market

On March 16th, 2021, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) announced it had signed a loan deal for the amount of USD 29.4m to fund the expansion of a joint venture between Japanese firm Toyo Kohan Co. Ltd and a Turkish holding company.

The press release announcing the deal stated that the funding would go towards the manufacture of steel sheets by the firm in question. According to the same press release, '[t]his loan will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the international competitiveness of Japanese industry by supporting Toyo Kohan's overseas business development'.

Overseas investment loans
JBIC provides direct loans named overseas investment loans to Japanese companies, overseas affiliates or joint ventures where Japanese companies hold equity interests and governments or financial institutions partying with such overseas affiliates.
