On 9 May 2012, Bolivia's Cabinet Council adopted Decree No. 1230 introducing safeguard measures on the import of fresh and chilled as well as on prepared and preserved potatoes. According to the Decree, imports were suspended for a period of 90 days, effective as of 10 May 2012.
On 8 June 2012, Resolution No. 008/2012 was adopted suspending the safeguard measure on prepared and preserved potatoes. The safeguard measure on fresh and chilled potatoes remained in force for the period of 90 days.
