Import tariff quota

On 27 June 2018, the EU adopted Council Regulation (EU) No 2018/913 updating the autonomous import tariff quotas on a number of goods for the second half of 2018. This measure modifies the 2018 values adopted in December 2017 (see related state act).

In response to market developments during the first half of 2018, the EU made the following modifications:

  • New quotas were opened for 14 6-digits HS codes. Most of the quotas are expressed in tonnes, whilst some products have quotas in kg, pieces and metres.  
  • The in-quota volume of HS code 2912.42 was increased from 950 to 1 950 tonnes.

The scheme provides a number of autonomous import tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products with reduced or zero import duty rates.

The new tariff quotas are valid from 1 July 2018 until 31 December 2018.
