Import tariff quota

On 30 December 2015, the EU adopted Council Regulation (EU) 2015/2448 which establishes the 2016 values for the import tariff quotas scheme established in December 2013 (see related state act), opening new or increasing 22 in-volume quotas.

In particular, based on a comparison of the established annual values between the years 2015 and 2016, the following modifications were made:

  • New quotas were opened for the following 14 6-digits HS codes: 0710.40, 2914.19, 2916.39, 2918.29, 2920.90, 2921.29, 2924.19, 2929.90, 3204.11, 3907.40, 7409.11, 7410.21, 7606.12, and 8483.30.
  • The in-quota volumes for the following eight 6-digits HS codes were increased: 2915.24, 2916.19, 2926.90, 2935.00, 3905.99, 3921.14, 7604.29, and 8302.49. 

The scheme provides determined products with imports at zero duty rates, with exception of HS code 2008.60 for "sweet cherries" which is subject to a reduced tariff of 10%. Notably, the annual in-volume quota for HS code 2008.60 was not modified. 

The new tariff quotas are valid from 1 January 2016 until 31 December 2016.

Update

On 30 June 2016, the EU adopted Council Regulation (EU) No 2016/1050 updating the values for the second half of 2016 (see related state act). Via this regulation, new tariff quotas were established, while other previous ones were replaced and/or eliminated. In particular, the regulation closed the in-volume quotas for HS code 7606.12 from 1 July 2016 onwards and increased the in-volume quota for HS code 2914.19.

Import tariff quota

On 30 December 2015, the EU adopted Council Regulation (EU) 2015/2448 establishing the 2016 values for the import tariff quotas scheme established in December 2013 (see related state act), decreasing or eliminating five quotas previously allocated.

In particular, based on a comparison of the established annual values between the years 2015 and 2016, the following modifications were made:

  • The quotas for the following two 6-digits HS codes were closed: 1104.29 and 2905.59. The previous in-volume quotas ranged were 1 500 and 15 000 tonnes, respectively. 
  • The in-quota volumes for the following three 6-digits HS codes were decreased: 2926.10, 3204.17, and 3824.90.

The new tariff quotas are valid from 1 January 2016 until 31 December 2016.
