Anti-dumping

On December 11th, 2008, the Argentinian authorities decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of ceramic sanitary ware from Brazil and Uruguay (Resolution 8/2008, 11.12.2008). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 6910.1000 and 6910.9000. This follows the request lodged by Ferrum S.A. de Ceramica y Metalurgia.
 
The original anti-dumping duty was imposed on December 12th, 2005 by Resolution 21/2005.
 
On June 10th, 2010, the Argentinian authorities concluded the expiry review and decided upon the continuation of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of ceramic sanitary ware from Brazil and Uruguay (Resolution 206/2010, 10.06.2010). The rate of the duty depends on the good concerned and on the country of origin. For more details, please see Resolution 21/2005 dated December 12th, 2005. This definitive anti-dumping duty entered into force on the day following the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. June 12th, 2010, and is applicable for a period of five years.
 
On June 10th, 2015, the Argentinian authorities decided to initiate a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of ceramic sanitary ware from Brazil (Resolution 436/2015, 10.06.2015). This follows the request lodged by Ferrum S.A. de Ceramica y Metalurgia. The existing anti-dumping duty imposed by Resolution 206/2010 remains in force during the review as far as Brazil as country of origin in concerned. The investigation started on the day of the publication of the resolution in the Official Journal of the Argentinian Republic, i.e. on June 12th, 2015. Since no sunset review was initiated, the measure imposed on imports originating in Uruguay expired on June 12th, 2015.
 
On 10 June 2016, the Argentinian authorities extended the existing definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of ceramic sanitary ware from Brazil following the above sunset review (Resolution 245/2016). The definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Resolution 206/2010 is extended for a period of five years.
