Export subsidy

On 11 November 2010, Colombia's Ministry of Agriculture adopted Resolution No. 393 creating the current hedging support program directed exclusively at Colombian exporters of agricultural goods (El programa de coberturas para la asignación temporal de incentivos y apoyos directos a los productores de bienes agropecuarios del sector exportador SEPC), leading to a de facto export subsidy. The program takes over 60 to 70 per cent of hedging costs otherwise assumed by exporters of agricultural goods. It is endowed with COP 49,000 million (or approximately USD 25 million) per year.
