Financial grant

On 28 January 2021, the French government launched a EUR 120 million (approx. USD 145 million) programme under the “France Num” initiative to support the digital upgrading of companies.

The programme provides financial grants of EUR 500 (approx. USD 606) per company in order to finance part or all expenses of services related to digital transformation and expenses for the acquisition and installation of software that allows beneficiaries to carry out their online operations including e-commerce.   

Eligible beneficiaries are SMEs and mid-caps of up to 11 employees that have not been able to operate since 30 October 2020 due to the lockdowns in place. Estimates suggest around 110,000 enterprises may benefit from the support. Applications will be managed by the Service and Payment Agency (ASP in French).

The programme is launched under the France Relance framework, introduced in September 2020, as a short- and medium-term support plan to foster economic recovery in France in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A state act in the GTA database is assessed solely in terms of the extent to which its implementation affects foreign commercial interests. On this metric, the support granted here is discriminatory.
