Export licensing requirement

On 31 December 2020, the Brazilian Integrated Foreign Trade System (SISCOMEX) published Exportation Notice Nº 067/2020 announcing the imposition of export licensing requirements on two types of syringes classified under tariff line NCM 9018.31.19.

The inclusion of these products into the list of goods subject to export licensing requirements is founded in SECEX Ordinance 16/2020 adopted on 18 March 2020 that amended SECEX Ordinance 19/2019 that regulates the goods subject to export licensing requirements (see related state acts).

The new export licensing requirements entered into force on 1 January 2021.

Notably, this measure was introduced in response to the Coronavirus outbreak and complements other similar measures adopted by the government in response to the pandemic (please, see related state acts).
