Financial grant

With Decree 229 of May 20, 2013, the President of the Republic of Belarus approved new state measures having the goal to stimulate the realisation of innovative projects. The beneficiaries under the new state scheme must be either citizens of Belarus (inclusive individual entrepreneurs in the case of realisation of investment projects with the participation of scientific-technological parks or small-scale business incubators) or juridical persons, residents of Belarus. The concretely foreseen forms of state support are:

  • Belarusian Roubles-denominated state grants corresponding to not more than USD 25,000 on the project's preparatory phase and not more than 100,000 on the project's construction-technological phase;
  • Innovation vouchers, provided by the Belarusian Innovation Fund, confirming that it will meet the necessary project-related payments, requested by third parties. The voucher cannot be transferred to third parties and does not have the characteristics of a treasury bill.

The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
