On 31 December 2020, the Turkish government announced making an amendment in the import duties of lentils, surface-active preparations, and baby pacifiers.

Import tariff

On 31 December 2020, the government of Turkey issued the import regime for the year 2021. With the new decree, the government increased the import duties on lentils from 9% to 19.3%. Subject product is classified in the Turkish Customs Schedule under the tariff code 0713.40.00.00.13. 

The decision enters into force on 1 May 2021.

Import tariff

On 31 December 2020, the government of Turkey issued the import regime for the year 2021. With the new decree, the government terminated the import duties on surface-active preparations provided that the subject product is used in the production process of cleaning products. The import of surface-active preparations for other purposes is subject to 4% import duty. Subject product is classified in the Turkish Customs Schedule under the tariff code 3402.90.10.00.13 

The decision enters into force on 1 January 2021.

Tax or social insurance relief

On 31 December 2020, the government of Turkey issued the import regime for the year 2021. With the new decree, the government granted the producers of cleaning products the right to import surface-active preparations duty-free. The importation of surface-active preparations for purposes other than as an input in the production process of cleaning products is subject to 4% import duty.

The decision enters into force on 1 January 2021.
