Import quota

On 21 June 2012, Colombia's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism published Circular No. 029 of 2012, in conjunction with Circular No. 024 of 11 May 2012, allowing imports of up to 2,000 tonnes of white rice and up to 35,000 tonnes of paddy rice from fellow countries of the Andean Community, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia, effective as of 30 June 2012. Previously, rice imports from these countries were not allowed.
