Import tariff

On 8 July 2011, the Singapore Customs announced in Circular No. 13/2011 the exemption of import duties on motor cars, which have been cut into half across the length and if both halves are imported together. The measure entered into force on 11 July 2011. Previously, these half-cut motor cars were considered complete motor cars and were thus subject to an import duty of 20 per cent.
