Import tariff

On 11 November 2020, the Indian Ministry of Finance through Notification No. 42/2020-Customs imposed a 5% import duty on the following goods used in the manufacture of Open Cell of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and Light Emitting Diode (LED) TV panels - 

  • Chip on Film
  • Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA)
  • Cell (glass board/substrate).

The Notification is effective from 12 November 2020.

The import duty on these goods was reduced earlier on 17 September 2019 (See related State Act).
