India has allowed a temporary export quota for Krishnapuram and Bangalore Rose Onions.

Export quota

On 9 October 2020, the Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade through Notification No. 39/2015-2020 announced an export quota of 10,000 Metric Tonnes of Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram Onions each. These exports will have to be completed by 31 March 2021 and will be permitted only through the Chennai port.

The export of all onions was earlier banned with effect from 14 September 2020 (see related State Act).
