Import tariff

On 3 July 2020, the European Commission issued Regulation No. 2020/959, eliminating the import duty on maize, sorghum and rye. The previous duty was set at EUR 4.65 (USD 5.23) per tonne. The subject goods are classified under HS code subheadings 1002.10.00, 1002.90.00, 1005.10.90, 1005.90.00, 1007.10.90 and 1007.90.00.

The import duty is imposed following the implementation of a flexible mechanism for import tariffs on grain imports (wheat, rye, maize and sorghum) in August 2010, see related state act.

In August 2020, the import duty on the subject goods was reintroduced, see related state act.
