In November 2012, the government of Thailand initiated a new anti-dumping investigation and a definitive duty was imposed in May 2014. In May 2019, a sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On November 29, 2012, the Thai authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of high carbon steel wire rods from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7213.9190 and 7227.9000.
 
On August 9, 2013, the Thai authorities imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of high carbon steel wire rods originating in China. The rate of duty ranges from 16.14% to 33.95%.
 
On May 17, 2014, the Thai authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of high carbon steel wire rods originating in China. The rate of duty ranges from 5.17% to 33.98%.
 
On 18 January 2015, the Thai authorities initiated a review of the above anti-dumping duty.
 
On 22 December 2016, the Thai authorities amended the above anti-dumping duty following the conclusion of an anti-dumping duty review. The rate of duty is between 12.26% and 36.79%.

On 15 May 2019, the Thai authorities initiated a sunset review of the definitive duty imposed on imports of high carbon steel wire rods from China.

On 17 May 2019, the definitive duty was extended for the duration of the sunset review.
