In August 2012, the government of Thailand initiated a new anti-dumping investigation and imposed a definitive duty in December 2013. In December 2018, a sunset review was initiated.

Anti-dumping

On August 17, 2012, the Thai authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of flat cold-rolled stainless steel from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 7219.3200, 7219.3300, 7219.3400, 7219.3500, 7219.9000, 7220.2010, 7220.2090, 7220.9010 and 7220.9090. The dumping is suspected to have occurred between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.

On December 10, 2013, the Thai authorities imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of flat cold-rolled stainless steel from China. The rate of duty ranges from 8.50% to 33.32%, depending on the exporting company.

On 6 December 2018, the Thai authorities initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 7219.32.00, 7219.33.00, 7219.34.00, 7219.35.00, 7220.20.10 and 7220.20.90.
