Anti-dumping

On April 23, 2013 two U.S. firms (the Davis Wire Corporation and Insteel Wire Products Company) filed anti-dumping petitions against imports of prestressed concrete steel rail tie wire from China, Mexico, and Thailand.
The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code 7217.1080 but may also be classified under HS codes 7217.1070, 7217.1080, 7217.1090, 7229.9010, 7229.9050, 7229.9090 and 7312.1030.
The first step in the investigation is the U.S. International Trade Commission's preliminary injury determination, in which an affirmative injury finding was made on June 6, 2013.
The later dumping determination against Thailand was negative, but on June 24, 2014, the Department of Commerce issued an AD order against these products imported from China and Mexico. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in China is 35.31%, at the exception of the goods produced by Silvery Dragon Prestressed Materials Co., Ltd. Tianjin and exported by Silvery Dragon Group Technology and Trading Co., Ltd. Tianjin, which are subject to a duty of 31.40%. The rate of the duty imposed on imports originating in Mexico is 9.99%.
