In April 2020, the government of Anguilla approved the elimination of tariffs and taxes applicable to imports of cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, PPE and some food products in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Import tariff

On 2 April 2020, the Executive of Anguilla agreed on the temporary elimination of import tariffs applicable to certain cleaning supplies, toiletries, gloves, face masks, PPE and some food items. The decision was taken amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to the tariffs, the government has also eliminated other taxes that apply to imports (please, see related intervention). 

The new import tariffs apply initially for a three-month period starting on 13 April 2020.

Internal taxation of imports

The Executive of Anguilla also agreed on the temporary elimination of the interim goods tax and the administrative fee applicable to imports of certain cleaning supplies, toiletries, gloves, face masks, PPE and some food items. The decision was taken amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to the elimination of these taxes, the government also eliminated the import duties on the affected goods (please, see related intervention).

The new import tariffs apply initially for a three-month period starting on 13 April 2020.
